Summary

This Biometrics Notice (“Notice”) informs you or your authorized representative that a biometric identifier or information may be collected and stored if you use parts of the Service. Randeivu, through our third-party service provider, uses ID scanning and facial recognition technology to verify your identity and safeguard personal information as part of our security and fraud prevention efforts. Randeivu recognizes the sensitivity of biometric information and takes seriously its obligations to maintain the confidentiality and protect the security of data. This Notice describes our collection and use biometric data for these security and fraud purposes.

Biometric Data Defined

As used in this policy, biometric data means information about your physical or biological characteristics (these are also sometimes referred to as “biometric identifiers”) that identify you. Information like eye or facial scans; fingerprints and voiceprints may be considered biometric data when used to identify you. The definitions of biometric data vary under different state and international laws. Photos of you are not biometric data, but biometric data can be made from processing a photo of you.

When you create an account to use the Service, we will ask you to upload a screenshot of your government ID and a photo of yourself. We may use these images to create a “biometric identifier”. We also collect other information from your ID. We use this information to verify that your ID is real, to confirm your identity, and to prevent fraud.

Specific Purposes, Uses, and Disclosure of Biometric Data

Randeivu will not collect, use, or store your biometric data without your consent. Additionally, we won’t sell, lease, trade, or otherwise profit from your biometric data. We will only disclose your biometric data or share the data with our third-party service providers to provide the Service. We may also use or disclose your biometric data to comply with legal obligations, such as responding to subpoenas, court orders, and law enforcement requests, or to prevent serious threats, subject to applicable laws; to communicate within our company to provide the Service to you; and to fulfil your requests or otherwise with your lawful consent as required under applicable privacy laws.

Biometric Data Storage, Retention, and Deletion

When you consent to the creation and use of your biometric data for identity verification and fraud prevention purposes, we will keep your biometric data for up to 3 years from the last transaction with a respective user (or when the initial purpose for collecting biometric data has been satisfied, if first), unless a different time is required by law, after which time it will be deleted or anonymized/de-identified.

Randeivu will store, transmit, and protect your biometric data using the same degree of reasonable care as for similar confidential and sensitive information.

At any time, you have the right to revoke your consent by emailing us at info@randeivu.io. If we delete your biometric at your request, we will be unable to provide certain the Service without you subsequently uploading another scan.
